WHAT ARE YOUR OPERATIONS OF OPERATION?
Toxic Lace Photography office hours are typically Monday through Friday from 8 to 5 pm. Of course we work weekends as well to fit your schedule. Please call us today for a consultation!
WHAT TYPES OF PHOTOGRAPHY SERVICES DOES TOXIC LACE PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDE?
Beside Boudoir, Tattoo and Alternative Photography, Toxic Lace Photography also offers Family Portraits, Children Portraits, Newborn Portraits, wedding and engagement sessions as well as photography sessions for any type of special event i.e. birthday parties, cheerleading team, dance etc. Please visit my family photography site at www.brittanyvanbeekphotography.com
ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS ON THE BOUDOIR OR ALTERNATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY SERVICES YOU OFFER?
While we work with our clients to make them happy, we reserve the right to refuse any session that we feel is out of the scope of our services. Although we love being edgy, we will not photograph porn or any other sexually oriented sessions. If you have a question as to whether your concept falls out of such scope, give us a call for a quick consultation.
DO YOU OFFER BOUDOIR SESSIONS FOR MEN?
Only in a “Couples Boudoir” session. Other than that our boudoir sessions are exclusively for women of all ages (age 18 and older).
CAN I USE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS COMMERCIALLY?
All of the photography services that we offer are for the client’s private enjoyment and use. Thus, we do not typically permit commercial use. If you wish to use them commercially we will be happy to charge the commercial rate.
ARE FRIENDS PERMITTED TO BE ONSITE AT THE BOUDOIR SESSION?
Female friends are great for support, and we encourage you to invite a friend. You may also book a joint session with one or more friends so that each of you may enjoy the experience of creating your own intimate portraits portfolio. Each photography mini session is treated as separate sessions and will take about two hours for the entire experience to be completed.
IS THERE AN AGE REQUIREMENT?
Due to the nature of the intimate photographs, we ask for women to be at least 18 years old at the time of the session. Proof of age and payment is required at the time of booking.
HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD I LEAVE TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?
Due to the popularity of our intimate portraits and boudoir photography sessions, we ask our clients to book a month in advance when planning ahead, especially if you wish to have your session on a weekend. Weekends are extremely popular and thus you should ensure that the time period you want is available. If so, we require a deposit to hold that appointment.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING MY PRE-SESSION CONSULTATION?
Before your photography session, we will meet with you to discuss your goals for the session, your preferences and the style of the photography session. We want everyone to be happy so it is imperative that we meet before your session to discuss and plan out all of these details. We will also provide you with a tour of the studio, and you will get to meet the members of our staff. It is very important that you do not miss your consultation as we cannot guarantee time to reschedule it, given our very hectic schedule.
SHOULD I BRING MY PROPS/LINGERIE TO THE CONSULTATION?
Definitely. While we encourage you to wear what you are comfortable in, it may not turn up well on photographs. I will consult with you to determine what will look best for your shoot. If you have a concept/ idea/ photograph you would like to copy, also bring that as well.
The Photography Session
ARE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHERS FEMALE?
Yes, as the owner and proprietor, I do all of the photography. I do not use male photographers.
IS BEING NERVOUS OK?
Being nervous is perfectly normal. But rest assured, many of our clients enjoy the experience and even want to do it again once they are done. We have many repeat customers who were nervous at the onset.
IS IT OKAY FOR ME TO ARRIVE EARLY?
Yes! Please arrive 30 minutes early. Arriving early gives us the opportunity to chat and for you to relax.
IS HAIR AND MAKEUP INCLUDED?
Hair and make-up are add-ons and the time allotted for this is separate from your actual boudoir or photography session. If you elect to add hair and make-up you should arrive an hour earlier.
CAN I PURCHASE EXTRA TIME TO EXTEND MY SESSION?
Yes, my fee to extend is $150 per hour.
ARE CHILDREN PERMITTED?
Children are not permitted during a Boudoir, Tattoo or Alternative session. The studio is not child proof and there are many lights, equipment and cords that can present hazards.
IS NUDITY REQUIRED FOR BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY?
At Toxic Lace Photography, we can imply nudity by using certain methods. If this is what you would like, please bring this up at the consultation so that we can fully discuss.
CAN I RESCHEDULE MY SESSION?
We understand that occasionally things may come up. Should you wish to reschedule your Toxic Lace Photography session, we ask that you contact us at least 14 days in advance to reschedule your shoot. After that, we may not be able to accommodate a timely reschedule and if so, your deposit will not be returnable or transferable.
WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND I WEAR?
We recommend that women wear what makes them feel beautiful, hot, romantic or sensual. That differs for all women. Should you not know what to wear, bring several of your things along to your consultation session and we’ll help you decide.
HOW MANY OUTFITS WILL YOU PHOTOGRAPH ME IN?
Each intimate portraits session is based on time not outfits, so if we plan ahead we can include up to 3 outfits. Again, we should plan this out at the consultation.
DO YOU HAVE ANY LINGERIE ON SITE?
No. You will need to bring your own lingerie. We do have a few props, items to help dress up your outfits, but you should come prepared with those outfits that you feel most comfortable and beautiful in. We also recommend that you bring along any accessories (pearls, sparkly bracelets, headbands, high heel shoes, sexy slippers, etc.) that you adore. We can offer some other suggestions during our consultation.
WHAT TYPES OF CLOTHING DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR A BOUDOIR SESSION?
While we believe the type of clothing is certainly up to the woman being photographed, below are some of the most popular items worn for a boudoir session.
A pretty push-up or padded bra can add some spice in an intimate portrait. Sometimes a lovely color or dramatic lace look will exude a sultry image and create an amazing portrait. Avoid buying a bra without trying it on beforehand. You should pick a bra that accents your body and that pops out in color or design.
CORSETS / BUSTIERS
Corsets tend to be very tight garments that are laced up the back. When picking a corset, keep in mind that you may be lying down in different positions so the corset should allow enough movement comfortably so that you enjoy your boudoir photography experience. Sometimes, corsets (although gorgeous) can offer more discomfort than desired during a photography session. If you select a corset, be sure it fits you without being overly tight.
A half-sister to the corset, a bustier can provide a sexy, sensual look with a lot more comfort than the corset. They come in a wide range of colors and textures and often are paired with a matching panty which is an excellent look for your boudoir session. Again, don’t buy it directly off the rack without trying it on. You want to come to your session with something tried and true, that won’t surprise you once you are here.
Lace panties are great to wear in intimate portraits. Try to avoid anything that is too tight, however, or that cuts into your skin. We find that low cut panties work best on those with curves. Feel free to bring them along to your consultation.
DO YOU PROVIDE COACHING ON HOW TO POSE?
Yes, we are experts at posing. We encourage you to relax and enjoy the pampering of the boudoir (and our other types of) session(s) and leave the posing to us. We will help you through each frame to ensure that you look fabulous!
I HAVE A PICTURE OF A POSE I REALLY LIKE. CAN I SHOW IT TO YOU?
Absolutely. We will do our best to style a pose from an image you have in mind while making it unique to you.
Make-up / Hair Styling
IS MAKE UP AND HAIR INCLUDED?
No, however, these can be added on. Should you not decide to pay for the make-up and hair styling, we strongly suggest that you have your make-up and hair done prior to coming to the studio so that you do not take away from your studio time.
Our make-up and hair add are a GREAT way to get that smoldering look that will make you look like a million dollars. Our team, will give you a beautiful radiant look that will work wonderfully in the studio. We charge $80 for make-up and $180 for make-up and hair.
Regardless of who does your make-up, we strongly suggest fake eyelashes as they will make your eyes pop in the photographs.
Note: Given that you will be photographed in high definition we suggest seeking out waxing services to remove any unwanted body hair (down there) before your photography session.
Editing / Touch-Ups
HOW MUCH CAN YOU EDIT / TOUCH UP PHOTOGRAPHS?
We use cosmetic corrections to remove most blemishes, acne and blotches, however, be sure to mention your concerns at the consultation. Depending on the item you wish touched up, we may not be able to satisfy your request, and we would like all of our clients to be happy with the end result.
If you are concerned about a particular body part, we can use clothing, lighting, and posing to enhance certain areas and detract attention away from others.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE PRESENT FOR MY PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION?
There will only be those people you expect: myself as photographer, any female friends you invite, and the hair and makeup team (if requested). All members of my team are female so no males will be present. Males are not permitted into the studio.
WILL YOU SHARE MY PHOTOGRAPHS WITH ANYONE OR USE THEM ON YOUR WEBSITE?
Your privacy is of utmost importance to us and we will never share or use any of your photographs without your expressed, written permission.
